English?

This has been bothering me for quite some time. Can someone explain to me why people are beginning to pronounce the word "to" as "ta?" To date, I thought the proper pronunciation was "tu." And by no(!!) means an expert on the subject, as we all know, the President during a press conference today kept saying, "ta...," "ta...." Idiot.

Oh, and what is up with the EPA deciding to not issue a waiver to California? I predict another loss in the courts for the EPA.
